Our school’s curriculum is all the planned activities that we organise in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum but also the various extra-curricular activities that our school organises in order to enrich the children’s experience. We want our pupils to become well-informed, self-motivated and responsible citizens, working in a skilled and creative way with integrity and thoughtfulness. We aim for our pupils to be confident, secure and discerning young people with a positive attitude that will prepare them well for life in the community and wider world.
The statutory subjects that all pupils must be taught at Key Stage 2 are:
Art and Design
Design and Technology
English (including spellings and reading)
Geography
History
Computing
Mathematics
Modern Foreign Language
Music
Physical Education
Science
Religious Education (through the Derbyshire agreed syllabus)
Sex & Relationships Education must also be provided through the school's own agreed schemes of work.
At Bolsover Church of England we teach a broad and balanced curriculum that aims to develop key skills that our pupils need to be successful in their future.
