Dear Parents, Carers, Friends and Family,
A very warm welcome to Bolsover Church of England Junior School. We are a Church school with close links to St. Mary and St Laurence Church in Bolsover. We are a larger than average sized junior school situated in a new development located to the east of the centre of Bolsover. We are very proud of our school, its grounds and the community it is part of. Our vision is based on distinctively Christian values and we encourage all to be courageous in what they do.
I have worked here for almost ten years now and can honestly say how proud I am to work in a school which is friendly, warm and family orientated where pupils say they are happy and safe. Here at school, we recognise just how important each day is for a child and we are committed to working hard to ensure the children receive the very best education and leave with memorable experiences to last a lifetime. We strongly believe it is important to ensure that our children are equipped for the experiences they face as they grow up and that having a positive view of themselves is really important to them succeeding in this rapidly changing world.
We believe it is really important that pupils, staff and parents have a voice within school. Our children know they are listened to and they also know they can influence change within school, such as through the School Council. Parents/carers play a key part in a child's education and because of this we highly value your support. Parents/carers are warmly welcomed into school to discuss their child's work or to even help out in the classroom at any time. Our school Governors are very passionate about school and fully support the work we are doing to bring about rapid improvement. They frequently visit school to meet with children, staff and parents.
Children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is linked to the broad and balanced curriculum we provide and founded on Christian values. Within different areas of school life, our children take responsibility and work to serve one another through Family Dining, team work and other extra-curricular activities.
We hope that this website can answer many of your questions about our school. We enjoy sharing our school with visitors and you are very welcome for a visit.
Mrs Bailey is currently on maternity leave. For any enquiries, please contact Mark Backhouse (Head of School).
