Welcome to our Year 4 page!
Here we can keep you up to date with everything that is happening in Year 4.
Our curriculum this term is titled...
Burps, Bottoms and Bile
It could get messy! Open wide – let’s look inside! We’re on a voyage of discovery to investigate the busy world inside your body. There will be lots of investigating as we learn about our different teeth, how to brush them and how sugary drinks affect them. We’ll examine the amount of sugar in different foods and create images of ourselves with healthy and unhealthy teeth. We’ll write a story describing the journey a piece of food takes through the digestive system. In science, we’ll learn about the organs involved in digestion and make our own wearable digestive systems in D&T. We’ll learn about digestion in different animals and handle a range of digestive organs.

It is very important that you are able to rapidly recall your times tables up to 12 x 12. We will be practising our times tables in school on a daily basis to improve our mental arithmetic.
Remember, we are always looking for our top TTRS scorer and there are extra rewards for those who earn the most coins each week! This is a fun and interactive way to help you learn your times tables!
Here is a multiplication grid to help you learn your times tables:

We ask that Year 4 are reading for a minimum of 20 minutes each day - this can be your school ZPD reading book, a book from MyOn or any other time of text - a newspaper, magazine, website article or your own reading book.
This can be independent reading - without reading to an adult - although if possible, please read to an adult at least once a week and record this in your reading record.
Once you have completed a school reading book with a ZPD sticker, then you can complete the Reading Quiz to gain points on the Accelerated Reader website here:
