Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools

CHURCH INSPECTION - (NATIONAL SOCIETY STATUTORY INSPECTION OF ANGLICAN SCHOOLS REPORT)

In June 2017, our school was inspected under the SIAMS framework (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).

The principal objective of such an inspection is to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a Church school and the impact of the Christian character and ethos of the school on the development and learning of the children.

The inspector spent a full day observing all aspects of school life with an emphasis on religious education, collective worship, the teaching of literacy, numeracy and science and the Christian distinctiveness of the school as a whole.

They spent time talking to the Headteacher, the RE and Collective Worship subject leader, class teachers, representatives of the parent body, governors and, of course, the children themselves.  The pupils all took part in collective worship and conducted acts of worship in their individual classrooms as well as displaying their learning in all of the core subjects.
